Chennai Super Kings defeated Warriors in the crunch game at Port Elizabeth by 10 runs to make it to the Semi Finals. Though Warriors lost this match, they too entered into the Semis ahead of Victoria because of their superior run rate once they crossed the 109-run mark in their chase.

It was a disappointing total for CSK batting first after winning the toss as they got restricted to 136 for 6. Michael Hussey opening the batting top scored with 50 from 39 balls while MS Dhoni struggled in the final overs to come up with an unbeaten 31 from 21 balls. Fast bowler Juan Theron was tight for Warriors giving away just 16 runs in his four overs to go along with a wicket. Medium Pacer Justin Kreusch was the most successful bowler though with 3 for 19 in four overs which included the big wickets of Murali Vijay (35 from 27 balls) and Raina.

Warriors didn't get off to a fiery start for a change and once their Skipper Davey Jacobs was gone for a 31-ball 32 in the 9th over, the target looked far away. The spin quartet of Ashwin, Muralitharan, Jakati and Raina stifled the Warriors to keep CSK in a winning position. Towards the end, Warriors got past the 109 thanks to Mark Boucher's 25 from 18 balls. They were kept down in the end to 126 for 8. Muralitharan was outstanding once again with 4-0-19-2 while Ashwin took 3 for 24.
