Sunrisers Hyderabad, the favourites in this Group B match against Titans at Ranchi were defeated comprehensively by 8 wickets. The Shikhar Dhawan led Sunrisers are in the danger of getting eliminated from the tournament and will have to win their final game against Brisbane Heat to have any chances of the Semis spot.

Put into bat first, Sunrisers got off to a flier from Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv with the left-handed opening combination putting up 62 on the board in just 6.3 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was the first to be dismissed, upper cutting David Wiese to thirdman after an attractive 37 from 21 balls (with 7 fours and a six). Very soon, the same bowler with a slower one got Parthiv Patel (26 from 24 balls) bowled through the gate.

Sunrisers lost its way very badly after the exit of its openers. It lost three wickets in succession which included the key wicket of JP Duminy, who was cleaned up by a pacy yorker from Marchant de Lange. Duminy was scratching around with 17 from 28 balls and his dismissal left Sunrisers at 102 for 5 in 16 overs.

For the Titans, Skipper Henry Davids, who opened the bowling with his off breaks conceded only 18 off his 4 overs. The key performer was David Wiese, whose 3 for 17 in 4 overs set up the match in favour of the Titans.

The run chase for the South African domestic team was sealed by 112-run stand for the opening wicket between the in-form Henry Davids (64 from 42 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes) and Jacques Rudolph (49* from 42 balls).
