Dean Brownlie, New Zealand’s new middle-order batsman has been ruled out from the remainder of the ongoing Zimbabwe Series with a broken finger.

Dean Brownlie, New Zealand’s new middle-order batsman has been ruled out from the remainder of the ongoing Zimbabwe Series with a broken finger. According to the New Zealand Cricket, it has been confirmed that the 27-year-old sustained a fracture on his left hand while fielding a ball in yesterday’s Second ODI at the Cobham Oval in Whangarei.

Dean BrownlieThe 27-year-old Dean Brownlie scored 19 and 2* in the first two ODIs of the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. Brownlie was out for a duck in the Only Test at Napier and this Series against Zimbabwe seems to be a bad phase for him with the end coming through a hairline fracture to his finger. For the record, Brownlie till date has played 4 Tests scoring 3 half centuries at a good average of 44.66, 2 ODIs and 2 T20Is with hardly any success.

New Zealand Cricket has stated that there will be no additions to the 13-man squad for the Third and Final ODI. After the 3rd ODI on the 9th of this month, New Zealand play Zimbabwe in a 2-T20I Series.
