Former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who is also a part of the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that selects India's coach, said he did not know what went wrong between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli.

“They are senior people, both of them have played enough cricket. We don't deal with all that. It's between them, I don't know what happened. I am not part of the dressing room. All I know is that he didn't want to continue and we will have to see what's the way forward," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata, as per an IANS report.

Just before India's tour of the West Indies, Kumble put in his papers, stating his partnership with Kohli was ‘untenable’. Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S Laxman, as part of the CAC had chosen Kumble as coach for a one-year term.

Asked if he felt there was any change in dressing room culture over the last decade, Ganguly replied, “It's a tough question for me to answer. As I said it's Anil's decision. I don't know the details. I don't whether Virat asked him to leave. I cannot say anything more about it."

"The team is playing now. So there would be too many things. I don't whether they have extended the time limit or not. Let's see," said Ganguly, on the deadline for coach applications.
